Endangered Species

I to urge you to end American trophy hunting of species listed under the Endangered Species Act. The recent death of Mopane, another important lion in Zimbabwe, for a trophy clearly demonstrates the need to codify the restrictions on importing trophies of lions and elephants from Zambia, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe that the House passed in this year’s Department of Interior funding package.
I also urge you to call upon Interior Secretary Haaland to halt the import of trophies of all species listed as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act and to follow the congressional directive to review the trophy permitting scheme. Finally, I strongly urge you to support all relevant legislation to end the cruel practice of trophy hunting. Thank you.
