Crime is a problem, but recent actions by Trump’s Administration to occupy Washington DC, is not a solution, only a show of power and intimidation by a dictator using military troops against the citizens of its own country. The fact is that crime in DC was under control with a 52% drop in crime since 2023. Trump’s announcement to do the same in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Newark, is a threat directed at democratic black mayors and democratic governors — period. With 800 soldiers now in DC and more coming from red states, many of which have significantly higher crime rates of their own, this is a misdirected effort to control our society prior to the 2026 mid-term elections. According to the Morgan Law Group, the 10 most dangerous states in the U.S. are all red states, none of which have been threatened by this administration with military occupation. Solving crime is not about force — it’s about better wages, access to medical care, better education, affordable housing, access to social services, and overdue firearm regulations. I expect you to stand up publicly in defiance to Trump’s clear effort to establish a police state in this country. It’s un-American.
