An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Oppose voter suppression, protect equal access to voting rights

20 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The SAVE Act's onerous identification requirements of a birth certificate or passport to register to vote would disenfranchise millions of eligible voters, disproportionately impacting married women whose legal names differ from their birth certificates as well as low-income individuals who cannot afford the costs of obtaining a passport. Mandating in-person voter registration further restricts access for those with disabilities, rigid work schedules, or lack of transportation, imposing unjustified barriers to the constitutional right to vote. This blatant voter suppression must be staunchly opposed to uphold democratic principles of equal access and representation.
