We Need You to Lead the Charge Against Trump’s Surveillance Regime
5 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!
I want to thank you for your long-standing leadership on issues of digital privacy and government overreach. But what’s happening right now goes far beyond policy — it’s an existential threat to democracy, and we need you to meet it with everything you’ve got.
Donald Trump has signed an executive order to consolidate massive amounts of personal data across federal agencies — bank accounts, medical records, IRS filings, Social Security information, immigration history — and he’s outsourcing the architecture of this dystopian operation to Palantir, a company founded and funded by some of his most extreme ideological allies.
This is not about “efficiency.” It’s about control. It’s the infrastructure of a domestic surveillance state — modeled after the Stasi, the KGB, and China’s surveillance apparatus. Now we’re seeing reports that this data could be paired with social media tracking. That is Thought Police territory, pulled straight from 1984, and it is being built right now in the United States under your watch.
You’ve spoken out before, but we need more than statements. We need fire. We need legislation. We need national attention on this before it becomes the new normal.
I urge you to:
• Publicly and aggressively demand the termination of Palantir’s federal contracts.
• Introduce legislation to block the merging of interagency data without direct congressional approval.
• Hold public hearings and subpoena documents showing how this data is being used.
• Sound the alarm at the national level — in media, on the floor, and to every Democrat who isn’t treating this as the crisis it is.
You have the credibility, the knowledge, and the spine to take this fight on. But we need more than quiet resistance. We need visible, relentless leadership before this monster is locked into place.
Thank you for everything you’ve done to defend our freedoms. Now is the time to go even harder.
