I'm writing tonight to express my deep outrage over the constant mass shootings happening in the United States. I ask that you take immediate legislative action to stop this epidemic of gun violence by... Instituting universal background checks for ammo and gun buyers, Reinstating a federal ban on the purchase of high-capacity magazines and military-style assault weapons, Closing the loophole that lets people buy guns at shows and through private sellers without background checks, Funding evidence-based community anti-violence programs, like Ceasefire, which have been shown to reduce shootings, I am sick and tired of working in a school and thinking of ways I can save my students and myself or if something like this happened to my own kids.
