Not another dollar for ICE’s lawless attacks on our communities!

As your constituent, I urge you to reject any funding bill that increases funding for the Department of Homeland Security, ICE, and CBP. I have additional specific demands for the funding bill: There should be no votes on any DHS funding unless and until the White House commits to removing ICE and CBP forces from our communities and Congress conducts a full investigation into enforcement practices, use of force, and civil rights violations. Once that demand is met, negotiations must begin with a call to drastically reduce ICE and Border Patrol funding and to reclaim the money allocated under OBBBA. I urge negotiators to advance only those policy provisions that directly stop the violence and abuse by ICE and CBP. Measures such as body-worn cameras, more training, or provisions that merely restate existing law do not meet this essential requirement. Stop enforcement at sensitive locations, including hospitals, schools, houses of worship, and community service sites -- a critical issue for service providers, faith-based organizations, and community networks. End family and child detention and prohibit any new contracts with private detention companies. Stop immigration enforcement based on racial profiling or any discriminatory targeting. Stop warrantless arrests. Ensure accountability for abuses by federal officers and end qualified immunity. Already in 2026, two innocent people were executed by immigration agents in broad daylight, in front of cameras. ICE and Customs and Border Protection are operating as paramilitary forces, causing chaos and harm in the streets of Minnesota and elsewhere. Children are being traumatized, people are being racially profiled, and Fourth Amendment rights are being violated. The majority of Americans believe that ICE’s tactics have gone too far and want ICE reined in. Please don’t go against these just demands of the American people. Please reject any more funding for DHS/ICE. Thanks.
