Hold Israel Accountable—Pro-Humanity Is Not Antisemitism

I am writing to express my deep concern over the Israeli government’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza and its expansionist actions in the West Bank. These policies have resulted in massive civilian casualties, the targeting of infrastructure, and the displacement of entire communities. This is not self-defense—it is collective punishment on a staggering scale.
Let us speak plainly: Criticizing the actions of a government—even one historically tied to deep trauma—is not antisemitism. These two things must be held as equally true: antisemitism is real and must be opposed wherever it appears; and the Israeli government is responsible for ongoing atrocities against Palestinians that may constitute war crimes or even genocide.
We say “never again” in memory of the Holocaust—but that commitment must be universal. “Never again” cannot mean “never again for us, but silence for others.” The use of historical suffering as a shield for modern injustice not only cheapens the memory of those who perished, it also risks complicity in fresh atrocities.
Prime Minister Netanyahu has declared there will be no Palestinian state under his leadership . Meanwhile, reports indicate former President Trump has suggested turning Gaza into a postwar development zone—without Palestinians. This is not diplomacy. It is erasure masquerading as redevelopment.
Supporting Palestinian lives is not anti-Jewish—it is pro-humanity. It is defending the rights of people who are starving, grieving, and being bombed out of their homes. That should never be controversial.
I urge you to:
• Demand an immediate and lasting ceasefire.
• Condition U.S. military aid on compliance with international human rights standards.
• Oppose any plans involving the forced removal or permanent displacement of Palestinian civilians.
• Support efforts for meaningful accountability for violations of international law—no matter the perpetrator.
The U.S. must not enable apartheid, ethnic cleansing, or annexation under any circumstances. We cannot build peace on the rubble of injustice.
