Stop the Illegal White House East Wing Construction

Congress must immediately halt the White House East Wing construction and investigate the illegal funding scheme behind it. Trump is charging a 2.5% fee to all donors to go to a “Trust”. Where are the checks on this money? The October 2025 agreement between the White House, National Park Service, and Trust for the National Mall allows anonymous donations to fund a $400 million project, with the Trust collecting $9 million in fees. Fundraising began in mid-September, nearly a month before the contract was even signed and demolition began without any notification to the press, or the American people. We still don’t know where the antiquities displayed in the East Wing are being stored. The White House identifies donors, specifies who wants anonymity, and funnels money through the Trust and NPS to avoid oversight. Nothing prevents donors with business before federal agencies from contributing. Amazon donated despite holding billions in federal contracts. This is a clear conflict of interest and should not be allowed. This all needs to be investigated immediately. This circumvents congressional appropriations authority and opens the door to corruption. We have no idea who is buying influence or what they expect in return. The agreement doesn't even mention the underground bunker construction, meaning taxpayers are likely funding that portion without disclosure. The President is spending taxpayer dollars without any checks on where the money is going and how much the renovations will eventually cost the US citizens. Exercise your constitutional power of the purse NOW! Defund this project, demand full donor disclosure, and hold hearings on this scheme. In our country the law matters.
