Investigate President Trump's undermining of our aviation safety infrastructure

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent mid-air collision between an army helicopter and an American Airlines jet at Washington’s Reagan National Airport, which tragically resulted in the loss of 67 lives. This incident marks the first fatalities in a US commercial airline crash in 16 years.
In the aftermath of this tragedy, President Trump has engaged in a blame game, speculating about the causes of the crash and pointing fingers at various groups, including Army pilots and air traffic controllers. He has even suggested that diversity programs for air traffic controllers may be responsible, despite admitting that the exact cause of the collision is still unknown.
It is alarming to consider that President Trump's actions may have contributed to this disaster. Since reassuming the presidency, he has forced the resignation of the chief of the Federal Aviation Administration, frozen the hiring of new air traffic controllers, and disbanded the Aviation Safety Advisory Committee. At the time of the crash, the FAA was without an acting administrator, and the air traffic control tower was reportedly understaffed.
I urge you to demand an investigation into whether President Trump's undermining of our aviation safety infrastructure played a role in this accident and whether his policies are making air travel more dangerous. Additionally, I ask that you work to end the hiring freeze and secure increased funding to address staffing shortages in air traffic control.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
