Vote YES on the COUP Act

I’m writing today to encourage you to vote YES on the COUP Act. On January 6th, 2021, Donald Trump incited a violent attack on our nation's Capitol in an attempt to overturn the election results. ...And Capitol police posed for selfies and invited the insurrectionists in. It remains blatantly obvious that police were never here to keep us safe -- we keep us safe. Rep. Jamaal Bowman's the COUP Act would require a deep, thorough investigation into the security failures at Capitol Hill during the insurrection. The ties between any Capitol police officer(s) and white supremacy or fascism must come to light. This issue is important to me not only as an american but as a federal employee and a taxpayer. Allowing the insurrection to go unpunished tells all feder employees that we’re not safe in our workplaces. • It will establish a commission to investigate the security failures on January 6th, similar to the 9/11 commission. • It will shed light on ties between Capitol Police and white supremacy, insurrectionism, or fascism. • We will only have unity if there is healing and accountability. The COUP Act is essential to that process. Thank you for your time.
