An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Oppose a Repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The Communications Decency Act's Section 230 has been instrumental in safeguarding free speech online for over two decades. Its repeal would open the floodgates for censorship, stifling public discourse and severely impacting online platforms and communities. User-generated content, comments sections, product reviews, and social media could all be at risk. Congress must uphold this vital protection and reject any legislation that undermines Section 230, as it is foundational to an open internet. Repealing it without a comprehensive alternative would have far-reaching consequences, disproportionately impacting smaller platforms and individual users. I urge you to adamantly oppose any effort to repeal or weaken Section 230, and instead work to strengthen online free speech protections.
