Defend the Right to Vote

I am writing to insist you to vote NO on the so-called SAVE Act. This legislation is not about protecting elections. It is about restricting access to the fundamental right to vote under the guise of “security.” The SAVE Act would impose additional documentation requirements that disproportionately harm eligible voters — including seniors, rural residents, low-income Americans, women whose names have changed, people with disabilities, students, and members of the military. There is no evidence of widespread non-citizen voting in federal elections. State and federal officials, courts, and independent investigations have repeatedly confirmed this. What does exist is a long and troubling history of voter suppression in this country — and this bill follows that pattern. Voting is a constitutional right, not a privilege to be narrowed through unnecessary barriers. Congress should be expanding access to the ballot, strengthening election infrastructure, and ensuring fair participation — not erecting obstacles that silence lawful voters. I expect you, as an elected official sworn to uphold the Constitution, to reject legislation that undermines democratic participation and threatens equal access to the ballot. Vote NO on the SAVE Act and stand on the side of democracy, evidence, and the rights of your constituents.
