I am writing after this week’s events to implore you to reform our gun laws. The fact that a six year old shot a teacher in the classroom is horrific enough on its own, but to find out from police that it was intentional is another level of horror. Can you imagine being that teacher and learning that information? What if it was your child that did this? Not only did a six year old have enough influence to commit such an act, but they were able to get a gun and carry it with them. If this was from a parent, it was someone who clearly should not have been able to purchase a firearm in the first place. We have seen events time and time again where teachers are being shot and killed in their own schools. Classmates dead and parents didn’t get to say goodbye to their children. Lives changed in a horrible way. We need gun reform and we need it now. Australia had ONE instance of a mass shooting and made changes immediately. The US is the only country letting this happen over and over again. Please do your part to put a stop to it.
