Another shutdown drama unfolding. The GOP Congress crammed Trump’s OBBBA down the country’s throat. We didn’t like it then. We like it even less now. But the GOP is still going to use their tried and true strategy of blaming Democrats for a potential shutdown of the government. And why would Dems risk being labeled the villains? Because they seem to be actually trying to do what’s best for the country and their constituents. It may just be politics, but at least it’s politics with some humanity. At this point it seems y’all have played this card one too many times. Y’all control all branches of government. Why can’t you get this done on your own without trying to intimate by threatening mass layoffs across the government if there’s a shutdown? Why did the president back out of a negotiating meeting with Democrats? Why is Speaker Johnson using dodgy protocol to impede Senate votes? Why is the only tactic you seem to possess is blaming others for your own actions? And threaten mayhem for your constituents? “For a guy who claims to understand ‘The Art of the Deal,’ Donald Trump is awfully scared of negotiating. Trump and Congressional Republicans control both chambers of Congress and the White House.
