States act now-Block Federal Troops and Agents From Polling Places
Vote is coming up and I need you on record: commit publicly that no federal agents or troops will be sent to polling places. When FBI Director Kash Patel was asked point-blank whether deploying agents to polls on Election Day would be illegal, he said "I don't know that we can't legally do it." That answer is disqualifying, and Congress cannot stay silent. Since they are- states need to act to protect democracy instead, if Congress won't.
This isn't hypothetical. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin has publicly described a "Polling Place Policy" directing agents to conduct immigration enforcement at polls.
A DHS memo obtained by American Oversight lays out a legal theory for deploying National Guard troops under Title 10 to get around the Posse Comitatus Act. The two JAG officers whose job was to say "you can't do that" were fired by Pete Hegseth in February with no explanation.
The Justice Department quietly pulled its 281-page election offense prosecution manual off its website. Every guardrail is being dismantled on purpose.
Federal law bars federal forces from polling places because their presence intimidates voters. That law only holds if you enforce it.
Introduce or co-sponsor legislation within our state that requires explicit STATE authorization before any federal law enforcement or military personnel can be deployed near a polling location. And say so publicly, before Election Day.
States have to hold the line when Congress won't.
