An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop Needless Deaths & Create Safe Staffing Levels in Nursing Homes & Hospitals

15 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

I am your constituent and I just learned that Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk has just rescinded the federal government regulations of safe staffing in nursing homes. Those rules were put in place because when private equity firms buy up nursing homes and start reducing staff, the death rate rises by 10% IN ONE YEAR. That’s a lot of people dying from neglect who don’t need to die. If it was your mother or father you’d do everything you could to keep them from dying from neglect. I know you would. Well the ones who will die by rescinding this rule belong to your constituents. I want you to craft legislation and get it passed that implements safe staffing levels in nursing homes and safe nursing staffing levels in hospitals too. Your constituents really need your help. Thank you. Here is the reference for the increased death rate, https://www.chicagobooth.edu/review/when-private-equity-takes-over-nursing-homes-mortality-rates-jump
