Protect Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services for the disability community

The recently released House budget framework calls for massive cuts of $1.5 trillion over ten years, with at least $880 billion in spending reductions directed at Medicaid. These devastating cuts would strip away access to vital home and community-based services that allow people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to remain independent and live in their communities. Medicaid services are not just numbers - they represent real lives and well-being at stake. Deep funding cuts threaten to undermine the independence, dignity and community integration for some of our most vulnerable citizens. Congress must reject these draconian Medicaid cuts and protect essential disability services that make community living possible.
