An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand Action to End ICE Detentions and Abuses

282 so far! Help us get to 500 signers!

End the ICE detentions. End the raids. You hold the power to act, and your silence is a choice. Construction workers are being snatched outside Austin City Hall. A Spanish citizen with a pending asylum case and a clean record was swarmed by eight agents at an airport and thrown in a jail cell for two weeks. An ICE agent shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado in Houston. A 72-year-old woman was pepper-sprayed in the face for filming on a public street. This is not law enforcement. This is terror. ICE's own body camera policy lets the agency withhold footage whenever release isn't in its "best interests." There is zero accountability, and people are dying. John Gannon, a lifelong Republican who voted for Trump, watched his fiancée get dragged away and said it plainly: "He's destroying families." This isn't partisan. This is a human rights crisis happening in our communities right now. Defund ICE. End the detentions. Use every tool available to you to stop this. Your constituents are watching what you do next.
