An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Protect checks and balances. Vote NO on H.R. 1526.

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I’m am writing to express my extreme concern regarding H.R. 1526. Checks and balances are a cornerstone of our democracy and have prevented extremism on either side from engulfing our government for 250 years. Handicapping the ability of the judiciary to issue nationwide injunctions will have far-reaching consequences, no matter who is currently in power in DC. Radically reshaping the judiciary in this moment because the majority party does not like the rulings against them is both wildly irresponsible and shortsighted. The senate has the power to stop this attack on our checks and balances and MUST do so. The current administration has shown minimal concern for the rule of law or the constitution, and if this bill becomes law, there will be nothing to stop future administrations (on either side of the aisle) from abusing such an attack on the separation of powers. I urge you in the strongest terms to find your courage. Stand up for our country and its PEOPLE, not a party or power hungry man who demands absolute loyalty. Vote NO on H.R. 1526.
