An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Republicans Avoiding Town Halls & Constituents is Unacceptable

21 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Avoiding in-person town halls is a clear attempt to dodge accountability. Town halls allow constituents to challenge policies that impact their lives, such as cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and vital agencies that keep Americans safe. Hiding behind virtual events and pre-screened questions undermines transparency and signals that lawmakers prioritize controlling the narrative over serving the public. If their policies are defensible, they should be willing to explain them face-to-face. Democracy dies without discourse; while our President might be okay with that, most Americans are not!
