An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop ICE's Robot Dog and Shock Glove Purchases Now

790 so far! Help us get to 1,000 signers!

Block ICE's $2 million robot dog purchase and the $20 million electric shock glove contract. These are not safety tools — they are the latest additions to an agency with a documented pattern of excessive force, and my tax dollars should not fund them. The shock gloves alone drew bipartisan condemnation, with 16 Democratic senators calling on ICE's acting director to cancel the contract. The robot dogs raise the same questions: no delivery timeline, no deployment limits, no clear oversight framework, and nothing stopping them from being repurposed beyond inspection duties once they're in the field. Civil rights groups are right to be alarmed. An agency that has faced repeated use-of-force scrutiny should not be handed new hardware with a press-of-a-button shock capability or autonomous surveillance robots before Congress has established binding guardrails. Cut funding for both purchases. Demand a full accounting of ICE's use-of-force incidents before any new equipment is approved. This is a human rights issue, and I expect you to treat it like one.
