Reject discriminatory anti-transgender measure, promote unity and equality

The introduction of a resolution to ban transgender women like Rep.-elect Sarah McBride from using restrooms that align with their gender identity at the US Capitol is deeply concerning. As an LGBT and non-binary American, I urge you to reject this discriminatory measure that singles out a marginalized community and deprives them of basic dignity. All Americans, regardless of gender identity or expression, deserve to be treated with respect. Instead of manufacturing divisive culture wars, we should focus on addressing pressing issues like housing affordability, healthcare costs, and support for working families. I encourage you to listen to the voices of your LGBTQ+ constituents and be an ally in protecting their rights and wellbeing. True leaders bring people together, not drive them apart based on who they are.
