An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Hegseth’ Resignation after Unbelievable Security Breach

4 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

On March 24, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic reported being accidentally included in a group chat where Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth shared highly sensitive US military strike plans in Yemen two hours before it occurred. These discussions involved several top US officials including JD Vance and Marco Rubio, and happened on Signal, a popular chat app whose use for sharing classified information about military actions was referred to by multiple former senior intelligence officers as a "shocking risk to national security" and that such a breach would normally prompt an immediate investigation. Multiple members of the House Armed Services Committee are already calling for such an investigation and for the resignation or firing of those responsible. As the Secretary of Defense, the responsibility for this extraordinary breach of national security falls squarely on Pete Hegseth, whose lack of experience for this role makes him not only deeply unqualified, but a danger to our national security, as well as to the lives of those serving in our armed forces. I demand you call for Hegseth's immediate resignation.
