Please vote against H.R. 9495 in the Senate. This bill gives the president unilateral authority to remove tax-exempt status from non-profit organizations. There is already a process for challenging and removing tax-exempt status. This bill would grant an unchecked power that under any president is unnescesary, and under Trump, could be perverted into a tool for retribution. Again I ask, please vote against H.R. 9495.
