An open letter to the U.S. Congress

COVID relief

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I am a member of Indivisible CA33/CA37 and I'm writing today to urge you to focus your attention on immediately passing additional measures to alleviate the coronavirus' economic pressure on Americans. We need an extension of the $600 per week unemployment compensation program, which expired on July 31st. The only way to stop the spread of the virus is to pay people to stay home. We also need funding for COVID-19 testing and contact tracing. Other countries have done this, so it is a travesty that we have not. Lastly, this bill cannot provide immunity to corporations. If they behave irresponsibly and cause the virus to spread they should be held responsible. Thank you for your time and attention.
