But like a large number of American voters, you got snookered. And look where it led us. The GOP enabled everything we’ve seen happen to America in the past couple of months. And now, finally, when it’s too late, are finally showing signs of public unease. Thank you Senator Cruz for too little, way too late. You helped him destroy the federal apparatus. And cheered him on. You sat back, blaming others for actions you and your colleagues enabled. You took victory laps for things you voted against. You defended this president in every action he wanted to take, whether it teetered on illegality or not. And when called out by the courts for illegal actions, abetted by the GOP Congress, you screamed for impeaching the only branch of government holding the line against authoritarianism. Now it appears he’s single-handedly tanking the world economy. Hurting his own country more than those he has slapped tariffs on. And why have you finally starting making some concerned noises? Because your jobs might be on the line during the next election cycle. Nothing like selfish self-interest to ignite a cynical new concern for country. Now you’ve decided he goes too far. When your own hides are at risk. How will you fight back, when he’s neutered you and whatever power you thought you had? In 2016 you handed him the leash to lead us, and you, into destruction. We knew it. You chose not to. Your judgement is poor. And look where we are. Hopefully today’s protests will show you just how strongly America disagrees with you.
