Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Oratory for the day…
“We won world wars out of forts,” [DJT] said at an event in Rochester, New Hampshire. “Fort Benning, Fort This, Fort That, many forts. They changed the name, we won wars out of these forts, they changed the name, they changed the name of the forts. A lot of people aren’t too happy about that.”
And in case you didn’t get it the first time he then essentially repeated what he’d just said.
“They changed the name of a lot of our forts. We won two world wars out of a lot of these forts and they changed the name,” he said. “It’s unbelievable.”
It certainly is. Unbelievable that is. Unbelievable that this is your certain choice to lead America. Bravo.
But I’m actually here to remind you that today marks the 50th anniversary of the passage of Roe v Wade, giving women bodily autonomy. A right finally bestowed by law. A long-decided precedent that your party, and your current GOP leader specifically, took away from half of the country. Without a backward glance. Without care. Without a clue.
Actions that sent us back in time where women died. Where we have, once again, less rights than men. And now women are again dying. Because of your actions.
America does not agree with you on this issue. And it never has, not once in our history as a country.
You did this. DJT did this. And when we read a GOP operative saying the issue of abortion is only being used as ‘political pandering’ our blood boils again.
This is not politics for us. And you even still just don’t get it.
Happy anniversary.
