No more profiting off the presidency

It is imperative that the president be held accountable for violating the Constitution's Emoluments Clauses by profiting from the presidency through his private business interests. These anti-corruption provisions were carefully crafted by the Framers to prevent foreign or domestic governments from exerting undue influence over the president through financial payments or advantages. President Trump's refusal to fully divest from his business empire has opened the door to scenarios the Framers explicitly sought to prevent, such as foreign leaders attempting to curry favor by patronizing Trump properties. This represents a clear betrayal of the public trust. Egregious violations of this foundational principle undermine faith in government institutions and the entire democratic system. The Framers recognized impeachment as the remedy for such severe abuses of power and corruption. Therefore, a comprehensive investigation into the full scope of the president's violations is warranted to uphold the Constitution and preserve democratic norms. Allowing this conduct to persist would further normalize unprecedented levels of corruption at the highest level of government.
