Here we go again. Back to the bottom of the barrel for Republicans. Pull the racism card to attempt to get the population fired up in your favor.
And, not start the process, but continue this familiar theme by your President posting a meme of the Obamas as apes. Classy as ever.
Then queue up the usual chickenshit playbook and blame a low-level staffer for the ‘mistake.’ It gets retracted, damage done (or goal achieved?) and DJT pleads ignorance of the whole thing in his usual disingenuous ‘nod nod wink wink’ strategy.
As if an out-of-control staff member is up posting trash in the president’s name in the wee hours of the night.
The American people are going to do what I do every time I’m subjected to a racist political ad (John Cornyn I’m looking at you) while simply trying to watch a yoga video on YouTube…change the channel and vow to never vote for another Republican who stands in the shadows condoning and enabling such.
And that’s a whole lotta people at this point.
There are a million assaults against our country by the Trump administration. And this one is to be expected, because he can’t help himself. But you can. You don’t have to stay silent as it happens again and again. You don’t have to make lame excuses for his behavior. Or accuse those of us who object of being politically hysterical.
We are not hysterical. We are decent. And we expect our leaders to be the same.
Fortunately, as I have believed from the beginning, and was reiterated by a commenter in my news feed this a.m., Donald Trump is finally uniting the American people against a common enemy.
Him.
