Some of us write you daily. Are you even aware of that, Senator? We write you because we love our country and still believe in its promise and power. We also still believe that men like you, who are handed the privilege of public office, will eventually act with integrity, reason, and ethics - and not simply play party politics. But what are we now supposed to think of you, Senator, and the ways in which you have utterly ignored your oath of office? What kind of man are we supposed to believe you are? How many crimes of Donald Trump is it going to take?
You've said nothing about President of the US taking a foreign bribe in the form of a $400M jet from Qatar. Would you have supported Biden doing the same? We all know the answer.
You've said nothing at all about Trump's 34 felony convictions, even implying that they were 'made up', when we all know they weren't, and we know you know they weren't.
You've said nothing about Trump defying direct court orders.
You've said nothing about the elimination of due process.
You've said nothing at all about Trump pardoning the January 6 attackers, people who endangered YOUR life, and have even implied that they were wrongly imprisoned.
You've said nothing about Trump using the Department of Justice to target his personal critics.
You've said nothing his violations of the 14th Amendment, yet you claim to be a Constitutionalist.
You've said nothing when Trump withheld federal funds that Congress had already approved.
You've said absolutely nothing about Trump using the National Guard against US citizens who are rightfully and peacefully protesting.
For many of us who write often, your silence is baffling. We took you for a better man than you've turned out to be, and what a sad realization that is. Man up, Senator.
