An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop ICE

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The detention of a U.S.-born American citizen by ICE raises serious concerns about potential violations of constitutional rights. Juan Carlos Lopez Gomez was lawfully present in the United States, yet he remains detained at the request of immigration authorities despite a judge confirming the authenticity of his birth certificate. This appears to be an unjustified deprivation of liberty for a citizen protected by the Fourth Amendment. I urge you to investigate this case thoroughly and ensure that no American citizen is unlawfully detained or deprived of their freedom simply due to their ethnicity or immigration status of family members. Upholding constitutional rights for all citizens must be a top priority.
