Resistbot Petition: ET TU RICK PERRY?

An open letter to the U.S. Congress

ET TU RICK PERRY?

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. It figures. The January 6 committee has identified the following as coming from….drum roll please…Trump Energy Secretary Rick Perry. “A Republican member of the House texted Meadows on November 4, the day after the election, saying: “HERE’S an AGRESSIVE [sic] STRATEGY: Why can t [sic] the states of GA NC PENN and other R controlled state houses declare this is BS (where conflicts and election not called that night) and just send their own electors to vote and have it go to the SCOTUS[?]" Rick Perry, former governor of Texas, and apparently hater of democracy, wanted Republican-dominated state legislatures not even to wait to see who had won the election—none of those states had been called by November 4—but simply to ignore the will of the voters, choose their own electors, and hope that the Supreme Court would hand the election to Trump as he had been saying for weeks it would. I’m so tired of being embarrassed for my state. If y’all hate the government you work for so much, you should all come back to Texas and lead us to secession. And save the rest of the country from our continued idiocracy. I doubt we would be missed.
