An open letter to State Governors (Calif. only)

Gov. Newsom please sign AB 28 into law! Californians want gun safety!

51 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

I’m writing to ask you to please sign AB28, The Gun Violence Prevention and School Safety Act, into law. B28 will provide sustainable funding for life-saving violence intervention programs across CA, including school mental health services and school safety, community violence prevention programs, counseling for survivors of mass shootings and those impacted by constant everyday gun violence, and more. It’s a tax on gun manufacturers and dealers (not individual customers). AB28 will provide sustainable funding for life-saving violence intervention programs across CA, including school mental health services and school safety, community violence prevention programs, counseling for survivors of mass shootings and those impacted by constant everyday gun violence, and more. It’s a tax on gun manufacturers and dealers (not individual customers). As survivors, families, communities, and taxpayers, we all pay the enormous costs associated with gun violence, whether we own a firearm or not. The gun industry continues to reap historic profits while its products fuel a costly public health epidemic. Please don’t listen to the NRA. Listen to us! Sign this bill now!
