Certify the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th Amendment - HJRes 80

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to support House Joint Resolution 80, to enable final certification of the ERA.
In an era where women’s rights are constantly under threat by Republican men and the Epstein class supporting them, this Amendment is even more important now.
Congress would then direct the Archivist of the United States to publish the Equal Rights Amendment in the Federal Register and certify it as the 28th Amendment. As of January 27, 2020, the ERA has met every constitutional requirement under Article V: passage by two-thirds of both houses of Congress and ratification by three-fourths of the states. Leading constitutional scholars confirm it is now part of the Constitution.
The only barrier is a ministerial step. The Archivist has refused to complete the publication process due to questions about the ratification timeline, but this is a bureaucratic obstacle, not a constitutional one. The text is simple and essential: "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex."
Women and all people deserve explicit constitutional protection from sex discrimination.
The ERA has been in the works since 1923, and the states have spoken.
Congress has the authority to resolve this and ensure the Archivist fulfills this duty.
Finish what generations of advocates started and recognize the ERA as the law of the land.
Thank you.
