US must press Israel to cease Gaza civilian casualties

The Israeli military's unrelenting assault on civilians in Gaza sheltering at schools and homes cannot be tolerated. These strikes destroying residential areas and indiscriminately killing scores of women and children are unconscionable violations of human rights and the laws of war. As Israel's strongest ally and financial backer, the United States must forcefully condemn these atrocities and urgently pursue all diplomatic channels to pressure Israel into an immediate unilateral ceasefire. If Israel refuses to stop the killing now, the U.S. must end all arms shipments enabling this escalating humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. The rights and dignity of Palestinians demand decisive action to prevent more innocent lives from being needlessly lost.
