Support Gaza Flotilla Participants and Humanitarian Action

I am writing with urgency and concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and to urge immediate action to support aid efforts and protect those participating in humanitarian flotillas.
Recent reports from the BBC highlight the dire conditions facing over 300,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza, where aid trucks can no longer reach due to the ongoing blockade.
Participants in humanitarian flotillas are risking their safety to deliver symbolic humanitarian aid—including baby formula, food, and medicine—to civilians in Gaza, where famine and medical collapse have been widely reported. Their mission was peaceful and nonviolent, yet they were intercepted, detained, and in some cases reportedly mistreated.
Among the 450 international activists detained by Israeli forces were at least 24 U.S. citizens—including military veterans—and they deserve our full support and protection.
I urge you to:
1. Publicly support humanitarian flotilla participants and ensure their safety is prioritized in international waters.
2. Demand accountability and transparency from all parties involved in obstructing humanitarian aid, including the Israeli government.
3. Push for an immediate and sustained humanitarian corridor into Gaza to allow safe and consistent delivery of food, medicine, and other essentials.
4. Support international investigations into potential violations of humanitarian law and ensure the U.S. does not enable or ignore policies that contribute to civilian suffering.
This is not a matter of politics—it is a matter of human rights and moral responsibility. The U.S. must stand firmly for the protection of civilians and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your leadership in defending humanitarian principles and supporting those who act in service of peace and dignity.
