Remember the days when you could turn on the news or open a newspaper or magazine and read truthful articles about current events? Good times… good times.
The president of the United States uses truth social like his own personal journalistic medium- but we never really know when what he is saying is the truth or a lie. Last night, he posted that he would like Venezuela to become the 51st state. Had this been a post by Obama or Biden or even Bush- it would be joked about and taken in the spirit of presidential humor. But when the author is Trump, it could be humor… or it could be his way of advising the states that he is preparing an invasion in South America. No one would be shocked anymore, though everyone should be disgusted.
The people of Venezuela don’t want to become a state. We here in America also don’t want it to become a state- more for their sake at this point than our own. What is the line between news and fake news these days? Anyone? Anyone?
We need to draw clear lines in the sand here. It isn’t funny, and it’s not a joke. Limiting Trump’s power immediately might be the only thing we can do to prevent total collapse.
Impeach now!
