ENOUGH WITH THE BS

Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. What’s up with our Republican leadership here in Texas. First I read that we’re gonna let anybody carry a gun without a permit. Then I read that our power grid is still iffy. Then it’s on to the federal funding bridge (1115 waiver) for poor and uninsured Texans (where we lead the country. Yay) is being retracted by the Feds to urge our Republican leaders to expand Medicaid coverage, which should have happened years ago. So I read this last one as an attempt to have the federal government take care of our poor folk through the back door so y’all can tout we don’t need no stinkin’ Medicaid expansion through the front door. Thus appearing tough and oh so self-sufficient. While the poorest among us get to suffer. During a pandemic. Typical hypocritical politics. Guess what? Your particular brand of laissez-faire politics in the guise of rugged individualism falls flat in the face of the reality of under-served Texans. If you and our Texas government is not here to actually serve constituents in need, what good are you?
