An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures

Act NOW to rein in ICE & protect polling from Steve Bannon's plan

17 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Steve Bannon has just been reported saying that ICE at airports is a test run for what he wants to do at the midterms. This is dangerous in the extreme. Imagine how ICE presence near polling places could affect turn out in close run elections ? Imagine the calculations being made to engineer a GOP win? Just a small suppression of turnout in carefully selected districts could change state outcomes. Imagine the dangerous consequences of federal and DHS possession of voter rolls? Please take all possible actions now at state level to REIN IN ICE-- now, every day and during polling. You know that Trump is a cornered animal. Remember the insurrection he led? The violence? The members of Congress who connived to delay? HE WILL STOP AT NOTHING. States must prepare NOW. DO NOT ALLOW INTERFERENCE and intimidation by ICE. The time to act is NOW. State level regulation is essential. No masks; no cooperation with local law enforcement; create no ice zones. Use all the mechanisms available.
