The evidence is clear and consistent across multiple sources: Venezuela does not manufacture fentanyl. The fentanyl crisis in the United States is driven by Mexican cartels that synthesize the drug using precursor chemicals sourced primarily from China. Venezuela’s role in the drug trade is mainly as a transit country for cocaine produced in Colombia, not as a source of fentanyl.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Any attack on Venezuela is an illegal action
