As my representative, I urge you to take immediate action to enforce congressional oversight and restore the balance of power between branches of government. The president's statements reveal a concerning attempt at a power grab that threatens the core principles of our republic. We must not allow any president, regardless of party affiliation, to overstep their constitutional bounds. Please work with your colleagues to reaffirm the limits on presidential power, particularly regarding the deployment of military forces on U.S. soil. Introduce or support legislation that clarifies the role of state governors in National Guard deployments and reinforces the checks and balances essential to our democratic system.
