Oppose Video Call Restrictions at Dilley and Close Family Detention Centers

DHS just restricted video calls at the Dilley detention center after videos of detained children went viral. This is wrong. You need to oppose these restrictions and push to shut down family detention centers entirely. The agency claims video calls from community areas compromised security, but the real issue is that Americans saw what's happening inside. We watched 9-year-old Deiver Henao say "I don't want to be here anymore. Nothing is good here. I want to leave and go to the spelling bee." ProPublica documented health concerns and mistreatment based on interviews with at least six detained children. Cases like 5-year-old Liam Ramos and 2-month-old Juan Nicolás have drawn national attention for good reason. Restricting video access doesn't protect security. It protects DHS from accountability. These children and their families deserve transparency, not isolation. Family detention causes documented harm to children. The solution isn't limiting who can see inside these facilities. The solution is closing them. What concrete steps will you take to end family detention in Texas and ensure these children are released to their families while their cases are processed?
