ENFORCE THE LAWS CONGRESS HAS PASSED

The Trump administration has begun ignoring court orders. What will you do about it? ICE has been rounding up people that should be protected by immigration laws. People who played by the rules we established. Who created lives and trusted they did what was required of them to achieve the hopeful promise of America. Now, due to ever-increasing demands to increase deportation numbers, people who were assumed to be protected are finding they are not. They are now simply easily picked low-hanging fruit so that the administration can assure us that dangerous criminals are being taken off the streets. They have legal protections. Where is the proof that these deportations are justified under our current system? Finding the real criminals requires more work. It’s easier to yank parents away from children. Wives away from husbands. Lives away from people who were following our rules. When a federal judge blocked Donald Trump from invoking a centuries-old wartime law to justify deportations and ordered a planeload of Venezuelans headed to El Salvador to turn around, the order was ignored. El Salvador's president, Nayib Bukele wrote on social media, “Oopsie... Too late.” If a president is allowed to resurrect long-dormant Acts by simply declaring a need, with no justification, to do what they will against whomever they deem to be a legitimate target, this behavior will not stop unless stopped. Apparently after every other guardrail has been demolished or ignored, the one thing we were all, including yourselves, counting on were the courts. Now that is beginning to erode. And who will stop this? Are we at the constitutional crisis we’ve all been warned about? Lawmakers have given up their power of the purse. You’ve given up your advice and consent role. So please explain why we need lawmakers when laws and legal judgments are being ignored with no repercussions? What actions will you take to make sure our laws are carried out under the intent with which they were passed? Or are you content with “Oopsie…Too late.”? Do your jobs.
