Reform immigration, prioritize economic stability and American values

The Reconciliation Bill recently passed by the House of Representatives raises significant economic concerns. Estimates indicate that the mass deportations and increased immigration enforcement spending outlined in the bill would add nearly $1 trillion to federal expenditures over the next decade. This fiscally irresponsible approach threatens to drive up the national debt while simultaneously dealing a severe blow to the U.S. economy by removing millions of workers across various industries. Instead of misguided policies that separate families and communities, a more pragmatic solution is warranted. Reforming existing immigration laws to create pathways for legal residency and citizenship, while reducing unnecessary enforcement spending to pre-2016 levels, would strengthen the economy and uphold American values. Undocumented immigrants currently working and residing in the country make vital contributions and should not face deportation en masse. I urge you to reconsider this economically and morally flawed approach in favor of comprehensive reform that keeps families together and bolsters economic prosperity.
