Patriotism Requires Accountability

I am a Constitution-loving, red-blooded American who believes in due process, equal protection, and the principle that government power is limited because history teaches us what happens when it is not. I love my neighbors. I believe in the dignity and rights of people I will never meet. That is why what is happening with ICE enforcement is so disturbing. When federal agencies use force without transparency or accountability, it is not strength. It is a betrayal of the values this country claims to stand for. This is not about politics. It is about whether constitutional rights still mean anything when exercised against the government itself. Patriotism is not blind loyalty to power; it is loyalty to the rule of law. I am speaking up because I believe in this country, and because Congress has a responsibility to defend it.
