Protect Fulbright program's integrity from political interference

The Fulbright scholarship program upholds important values of academic freedom and merit-based selection. Subjecting awardees to politically-motivated reviews undermines the program's integrity and reputation. As a graduate of the Fulbright College at the University of Arkansas, I urge the administration to respect the Congressionally-mandated authority of the Fulbright Board in finalizing scholarship decisions. Maintaining an impartial, non-partisan process is vital for American leadership in international exchange and education. The Fulbright program represents American ideals that should be safeguarded from undue political interference. I hope the administration will reconsider its actions and allow the Board to operate as intended.
