Stop Trump’s Power Grab of California’s National Guard!

The president usurping states’ rights to mobilize California’s National Guard to combat protests against immigration raids is an unacceptable escalation of force against those exercising their constitutional right to protest. The states’ National Guard exists to protect the American people, not suppress dissent or serve as enforcers for controversial immigration policies. Deploying military forces is illegal without a declaration of insurrection, and no such national emergency exists. Even LAPD said protests were fairly peaceful and it was ICE that escalated the violence. We urge you to publicly oppose this deployment and use all legal tools to prevent it. Congress must stand firm in protecting our constitutional values and the rule of law. The president is manufacturing a crisis where none exists so he can take power away from Congress and the people. This is fascism at its finest. Please speak out loudly against this, and use every legal means to stop it.
