Credit Pakistan the Peacemaker, Not the Firestarter 47

Pakistan should be formally recognized and nominated for a peace prize for its role in helping secure a ceasefire in a conflict that never should have begun.
Let’s be clear about the sequence of events. This war was initiated without proper legal authorization, igniting instability and risking lives for unclear objectives. Now that a ceasefire has been reached, credit must go where it is actually due. Not to those who struck the match, but to those who stepped in to douse the flames.
Pakistan’s diplomatic intervention represents what responsible leadership looks like on the global stage. It takes restraint, coordination, and credibility to bring opposing sides to a halt. That work matters. It saves lives. It prevents further damage that cannot be undone.
Attempts to rewrite this moment as a personal victory by the very person who escalated the situation are not only misleading, they are an insult to the seriousness of war and peace. Leadership is not measured by how loudly one claims credit, but by whether their actions reduce harm or create it.
Congress has a responsibility to uphold truth and accountability. Recognizing Pakistan’s role sends a clear message: de-escalation matters, diplomacy matters, and facts matter.
I urge you to review the record and support a nomination that reflects reality, not revisionism.
