Restore TSA Funding NOW

I am writing as your constituent to demand immediate action to restore and secure full funding for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). A strong, well-funded TSA is a core function of the federal government: protecting the homeland and ensuring the safety of the traveling public. Weakening this capability through funding instability or cuts is not consistent with the government’s most fundamental responsibility, national security. This is not an area for half-measures or delays. When TSA is under-resourced, the consequences are clear: increased security risks, strained frontline personnel, and disruptions that ripple across our transportation system and economy. Efficient, reliable air travel supports commerce, business travel, tourism, and supply chains. Breakdowns in this system impose real costs on American families and businesses. Equally important, TSA funding ensures that security operations are carried out professionally and efficiently. Investing in trained personnel, modern screening technology, and streamlined processes reduces wait times while maintaining rigorous security standards. Substituting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel as a stand-in for TSA functions is neither appropriate nor lawful. TSA officers are specifically trained, certified, and authorized under a distinct statutory and regulatory framework to conduct passenger screening and aviation security operations. ICE personnel serve a fundamentally different mission, with different authorities and training. Using ICE in this capacity risks exceeding legal authority, undermining established aviation security protocols, and exposing the federal government to significant liability. I expect you to prioritize restoring and protecting TSA funding in upcoming budget decisions and to support policies that strengthen accountability, efficiency, and mission focus within the agency. National security and economic stability depend on it.
