Restore government efficiency, halt DOGE directives harming agencies

This administration's actions through DOGE are severely hampering the operations of critical government agencies, ultimately making the government less safe and efficient while costing taxpayers more money. The unprecedented measures taken, such as imposing arbitrary spending limits and requiring top officials to personally approve even minor purchases and contracts, have crippled vital work across agencies like the EPA, NOAA, Social Security Administration, and others. At the EPA, research at 11 key laboratories has ground to a halt due to officials blocking purchases, leaving the agency unable to study environmental threats like air and water pollution. At NOAA, important work on weather forecasting has slowed dramatically as the Commerce Secretary must personally sign off on contracts and grants, creating a backlog of over 3,000 requests. The Social Security Administration is running out of basic office supplies as credit cards have a $1 spending limit. These actions defy Congressional intent in approving funding for these agencies to carry out their essential missions. They represent a violation of the separation of powers and Congressional authority over spending. Immediate action is needed to rescind DOGE's funding and authorization, hold officials accountable for impounding Congressionally appropriated funds, and restore the government's ability to properly serve the American people by hiring back those who were fired. The efficiency of the federal government and safety of citizens are at stake.
